Hold on tight, because this might just be the biggest René news ever. René le Blanc, together with Rene Ursinus, has written a song for Engelbert Humperdinck: "Always My Love". And it is the only newly written song on Engelbert's new album Faithfully (Cleopatra Records). 😱💙
Important: René writes the song, he does not sing it himself. Engelbert sings it; the credits list it as "Always My Love" feat. René le Blanc, in recognition of its author.
The circle is now truly complete
For years, René was affectionately called the Dutch Engelbert Humperdinck. And now he writes a song for the real Engelbert. René sent in a demo and got the green light almost immediately.
What is Faithfully?
Faithfully is a 15-track album on which Engelbert reinterprets famous rock songs (Journey, Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Aerosmith), with guests such as Rick Wakeman, Al Di Meola, Jonathan Cain and Ian Anderson. Of all those tracks, exactly one is brand-new — and that is René's song.
We will just say it like it is: mission accomplished. 💙
