This is big news, everyone. René le Blanc has announced that on 16 July he is heading into the studio with none other than Peter Orloff, the German schlager icon, composer and former frontman of the Peter Orloff Sound Orchester.
"We had already been working on this behind the scenes, but now it is official," René wrote on his Facebook page. "I am deeply honoured by this collaboration." And rightfully so, René.
Who is Peter Orloff?
For the newer fans: Peter Orloff is an absolute giant in the German-language schlager world. Born in 1944, he scored hits such as "Ein Mädchen für immer", "Das schönste Mädchen der Welt" and countless other classics. He also wrote songs for artists such as Peter Maffay, Bernhard Brink and even Julio Iglesias. In short: an icon.
What does this mean for René?
A duet with Peter Orloff is more than just a collaboration. It is recognition of René's standing in the schlager world. With songs such as "Du bist mehr als ein Wunder" and "Ich glaub noch immer an die Liebe", René has already proven that he holds his own in German with ease. A duet with one of the biggest names in the genre only confirms that.
The recording session is on 16 July, so expect to hear the result later this summer.
A busy summer for René
It does not stop at this duet. René's diary is bursting this summer:
- 8 July: release of 'Tropical Nights'
- 16 July: studio recording with Peter Orloff
- Around 22 July: release with Die Cappucinnos for Germany
And that is without even mentioning the Tropical Nights video shoot that begins tomorrow. René is unstoppable.
We will keep you posted. Until then: keep following his socials, because this is going to be a summer to remember. 🪻🥂
