From "If I Tell You". On record since 2020, on everyone’s lips since this month. Press the button and shout along.
It is the note René le Blanc belts out right after the chorus of "If I Tell You" — after forever you'll be mine. A deep breath, then an mmmyeah that lasts just a little longer than you expect. Sung completely straight, which is exactly why it is irresistible to imitate.
"If I Tell You" came out in 2020 and was René's breakthrough. The song got a second life through René le Bak, the student drinking game where you drink the moment it plays. Then the note broke free from the game: it turned up in group chats, at birthdays and in thousands of short videos. Now it is simply language.
From "If I Tell You" by René le Blanc (2020). The note comes right after the chorus, after the line "forever you'll be mine".
All of them are used. On this site we stick to MMMYEAH with three m's, because René really does put three in. The longer the belt, the more m's.
René le Bak is the drinking game around "If I Tell You". That is where the hype started. The MMMYEAH rule is now part of it: everyone shouts along at the belt, and whoever is late drinks.
The clip is on this site's soundboard. For personal use you can play it as often as you like; for commercial use the rights belong to René and his record label.
